It is at the beginning of the year 1981 that Lynch prepares the
script.he will have to work it over again twice more, since this
one was refused... So that, turning will start only in 1983 . But,
alas for him, the problems appear. He will have to share the studio
with the team of realization of " Conan the barbarian "
(with Arnold S....)!!! Thus frictions will occur between two turnings
(the place of turning is Mexico). Lynch will have to change the
director of effect-special (the old one having left after 3 months)
what will not badly pose a problem with the substitute who will
not approve the techniques employed by his predecessor.
Finally
after moultes stories, the film will come out for Christmas 1984
in the United States and in February 1985 in France. Paradoxically
Americans will not be interested by this film and even rather
not disappointed whereas this one goes well to France. Let us
specify that criticisms will not develop it and Lynch will pass
one of the worst periods there than it lived for the moment in
the medium of the cinema.....
Summary
of film:
The Arrakis planet is a desert, but this one is the only one concealing
" the spice ". This one makes it possible to increase
the life duration and to develop the conscience of people. It
is the emperor Shaddam IV who controls spice of this planet, thus
he orders to the Atréïdes clan to manage Dune in the
place of Harkonnen.
