It is precisely on Sunday April 8, 1990 that the pilot of Twin Peaks
appears on the American television (ABC chains ). The first reactions
are favourable. There is nevertheless a slight fall of audience
but all is OK; this is logical. Who wouldn't be attracted by these
generics which show us an almost paradisiac place?
why " Twin Peaks " revolutionized the kind?
One can answer this question by explaining that this series is more
interested by the links between the characters; thus the investigation
carried out by Dale Cooper is very long, a more interesting history
and more surrealistic allows to attract new people.
23, 1990, the season concludes vhen a person shoots against Dale
Cooper; alas the summer prevents any retransmission of the series
and this one starts again in September but during the evening,
at 22 H. It is thus on November 10, 1990 that one will know who
killed Laura Palmer, but the series starts to fall into oubliettes,
only the fans of the series will look it until the end.
10, 1991, the last episode of Twin Peaks is diffused in America.
same thing will occur in France. Diffused on the old chain "
la 5 ", it is on April 16, 1991 that the serial will start
but because of bad programming and summer holidays the series
will not attract many people.
even if Twin Peaks did not have much chance, David Lynch will persist
and carry out a splendid film " Twin Peaks: fire walk with
me " whose only fans having seen the series until the end can
understand the wheels and subtleties. This one is presented to the
festival of Cannes in the category " Out-competition ",
but even with that, the rooms which will present this film will
not attract lots of people.
